Gary Marlon Suson, Official Ground Zero Photographer:

"As Official Photographer at Ground Zero during the Ground Zero Recovery, I had many occasions where I'd strain my muscles from falls at the site. It wasn't the safest place to work and you had to watch where you were walking. I was also two months post-op from ACL knee surgery when I began my documentation in 2001, so it placed a strain on my whole body to work there for many months. Matt Mettler was gracious enough to donate to me an ultrasound unit which I began using right away through the guidance of my physician. It was like night and day. Daily activities to mild sports that used to cause me agonizing pain were alleviated through the Mettler ultrasound unit. I sleep better and having the "perfect" bed is no longer needed as long as I have weekly ultrasound therapy to relax my muscles.

Having my muscles at a state of rest also allows me to perform strengthening exercises now. I used to be in too much pain to even perform them! Having my own unit is priceless & has freed me to enjoy things that most people take for granted. I often use it before or after I work out and even before I begin daily tours at the Ground Zero Museum Workshop in New York and it is a blessing. Being pain-free is a possibility now...Thanks again" -
